The weight of Tengyu filter paper per square meter is 85g/m2 (fast), 85g/m2 (medium), and 75g/m2 (slow); The filtering speed is 9S (fast), 22S (medium), and 100S (slow); The thickness is 0.20mm (fast), 0.20mm (medium), and 0.17mm (slow). Usage in chemical experiments: Filter paper is often used in conjunction with instruments such as filter funnels and Brinell funnels. Before use, the filter paper needs to be folded into a suitable shape. The common folding method is to fold the filter paper into a flower like shape. The higher the degree of folding of filter paper, the higher the surface area it can provide, and the better the filtering effect. However, it is important to be careful not to over fold and cause the filter paper to break. Place the drainage glass rod on multiple layers of filter paper with even force to avoid damaging the filter paper.

Specific operation process

1. Fold the filter paper in half, twice in a row, and fold it into a 90 ° central angle shape.

2. Fold the stacked filter paper into three layers on one side and open the other layer to form a funnel shape.

3. Put the funnel-shaped filter paper into the funnel, with the edge of the filter paper lower than the edge of the funnel. Pour some clean water into the funnel mouth to make the soaked filter paper stick to the inner wall of the funnel, and then pour out the remaining clean water for later use.

4. Place the funnel with filter paper on the filtering funnel holder (such as the circular ring on the iron frame), place the beaker or test tube for receiving the filtered liquid under the funnel neck, and make the tip of the funnel neck rest on the wall of the receiving container.

5. When injecting the liquid to be filtered into the funnel, hold the beaker with your right hand and the glass rod with your left hand. The lower end of the glass rod should be close to the lower surface of the three layers of the funnel, so that the cup mouth is tightly attached to the glass rod. Wait for the filtered liquid to flow out along the cup mouth, then tilt along the glass rod and flow into the funnel. The liquid level in the funnel should not exceed the height of the filter paper in the funnel.

6. When the liquid passes through the filter paper and flows down along the neck of the funnel, check whether the liquid flows downstream along the cup wall and reaches the bottom of the cup. Otherwise, the beaker should be moved or the funnel should be rotated so that the tip of the funnel is firmly attached to the beaker wall, and the liquid can flow down the beaker wall.
